About Ayahuma
The Ayahuma tree name, composed of the Quechua words “AYA” (dead) and “UMA” (head), refers not only to the shape of the fruit but also to the tree’s capacity to calm and silence one’s mind. Indigenous people believe that the tree offers spiritual protection while strengthening the spirit and helping us recover from emotional shocks and release past traumas.
Ayahuma is traditionally used in the Amazon and different parts of the tree have long been included in local herbal practices. It is commonly associated with physical grounding and resilience, and has been used in traditional contexts to support the body during periods of strain. On a more subtle level, some people work with Ayahuma for steadiness, reflection, and inner clarity, often describing a calm and stabilizing influence.
The common preparations of Ayahuma bark are:
— Master Plant Dietas
— Tinctures
— Tea.
To prepare one serving of Ayahuma tea:
— gently boil 1 round teaspoon of the Ayahuma bark powder in a cup or two of water for 5 minutes
— let it steep for at least another 15 minutes
— strain and drink it hot or cold
